It seems that 5 years ago or more smart phones were pretty rare and most people didn't have one. Nowdays it seems that everyone has one. In fact, it seems as though most cell phone retailers are weeding out most of the standard phones that you can buy. The truth is that there will always be people that only want the basic functions of a phone and don't want to download applications and surf the web on their phone.
Now the phones that you can get today are capable of what some low end computers can do and the sheer amount of applications you can download for some of these phones is amazing. Technology has changed in a major way. You can even watch a streaming television show on some phones now. It almost seems that making a basic phone call has become a secondary function. Let me see what is on channel 7 and "oh yeah, I need to call my wife".
I can remember when the coolest new function was the ability to take a picture with your phone. Now the cheapest phones can do that. I do think that these phones are very cool, and it is interesting to see what the phones of 10 years from now are going to be able to do for us and what they will look like.
